Plaster discman repair

if you can then don't waste your time and just use tape

I've had some problems with my discman for a while now (about 3 months). Specifically it's that the spindle doesn't stay in place, rather it falls down to a point where the laser can't read the disc. That's why I decided to try the Plastic Discman Repair method (patent pending), mainly because I didn't have any tape.

What you need

  1. Plaster
  2. Discman
  3. Knife/boxcutter
  4. Patience

Step one: Remove discman spindle

First you need to remove the spindle from the discman. I think it depends on the model, however on my model it's easy.

Step two: Cut plaster to appropriate size

You need to cut the plaster to its proper size. It need to be big enough for it to cover the hole, however it must NOT cover the balls. If you do the balls will fall out.

Step three: Put spindle on discman, and pray it all works

Put your spindle on the discman. It needs to be put in far enough for the laser to read it, however not so far that the spindle can't spin freely.
